  • Why Work Stress Is A Good Thing

I know you must be thinking I’ve lost my mind because of all the work stress but no, that’s not it.

We all have stress of some kind. Family, Work, Life and what not.

Simply, if you don’t have work stress on some days, then your working is not serving you right.

You can totally have contradictory opinions about it right now, but read a while and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

When you’re working on something and suddenly some more work comes in, your first reaction is to curse the person who gave you the work and then curse the person who that work is for and then curse yourself for choosing this job and then cursing your life for not giving you what you want and i.e., a vacation… You see, a whole lot of cursing is involved in work life! You may be cursing this article because it reminded you, you have to go to work tomorrow! Hey, Don’t curse the article, curse your stress here.

In all that cursing self, life and people, what you’re doing is making yourself assume that your job sucks and you ARE stressful, even when you’re not… “Let’s take a break-to smoke outside”… Yeah, do it. That’ll help you with the stress. A thing which is slowly killing life out of you and effects your rational thinking and tricks your brain to make you think – You Are Stressed. Smoke away friend. If you really wish to not depend on a piece of shit-ggratte, then read ahead. If not, then go out, smoke and keep stressing out on life.

I am not saying life is easy ,or take it easy…I am also not saying that work doesn’t call for stress. But taking the stress seriously and then stressing about stress is just stupid. And since you do what you do, I don’t think you’re stupid!

Stress is not caused due to the work you do or are about to do but it is caused because of the anticipation of it!

Stressing over how much work you’ve left and how much time you have left for it because you want to finish on time and chill out! All that worrying creates havoc and you are already stressed! This anticipation of working more makes you overthink about every problem in your life (that doesn’t even exist) and the reason you conclude for those problems is your choice of work!!!!

Then ,you start thinking about switching, other options or totally changing your field of interest, so that you can enjoy whatever you do, no matter how much you do it!

But are you sure that doing what you like to do doesn’t causes stress?

    Let’s dig deeper into it.

When you do what you like to do, there’s no stress of More Work! There’s stress of No Work at all! Your stress is now accompanied by your fear of ‘what ifs’! “What if I don’t get what I want?” “What if this isn’t what I want to do?” Ecetera !

So still if you are stressed in some way or the other, its not because of what you do, its because you let it effect you!

“Work is Worship” for a reason.

Work gives meaning to our lives.

You can’t live how you want to live without the work you do. If you stress over work, then it is actually a sign that you take it seriously and want to grow. As stress makes you a better version of yourself in so many terms.

    • Stress makes you think about how much you work, that you should be proud of yourself for working so hard.
    • Stress gives you an opportunity to find new, smart ways to make your work easier for you.
    • Stress of some more work makes you learn new things!

Stress is your best friend at work if you let it be.
    So just let it be.
Work stress is a good thing, if YOU let it be.
    Have a happy workday.

It is the stressful times that make you a stronger, better version of yourself.

  • When You Feel Like Giving Up

Everyone feels like giving up on something at some point of time. We’ve all been there. In fact, we go through it on a regular basis! Hell, I have been like given on several things, several times, which probably is the reason I am writing this post! So ahead are not researched facts and solutions, rather experienced and applied life hacks which I think I am happy to share. May be someone right now reading this needs them! Hey if you’re reading this because you’re thinking about giving up on something, you should fasten your seat belt and read with a speed! Okay, I am done messing. Let’s go.

Reasons to be feeling like Giving Up

To be clear, giving up doesn’t mean you’re going through depression or have any issues. It’s totally normal and everyone feels that way. So take a deep breath, clear out your mind and read ahead.

There are innumerable reasons for this that can also vary on an individual basis.

Yet, the ones I am listing are common with everyone. (I guess).

    1. You don’t feel like you’re getting closer to the result you hoped for.
    2. You think you have made a wrong decision.
    3. You’re tired of motivating yourself everyday.
    4. You feel you’re alone in this.
    5. You want to live that life you want, but something still holds you back and you’re scared.
    6. You feel like you’re wasting your life and what if you’re meant to do something else!?
    7. You see people doing their thing and you feel demotivated and start to doubt yourself.
    8. You think you aren’t good enough
    9. This list can go on and on and on. Because if you want to give up you’ll CREATE excuses that aren’t even there!

    So what do we do?

Well, firstly, stop with the above points blabbering in your head RIGHT NOW!

    Secondly, keep reading.

How to overcome the feeling of “giving up”?
I am not an expert or a professional who should advise people what they can do and what they can’t. But let me tell you one important thing. Whatever I tell you or whatever even an expert tells you, won’t make a difference unless you accept them in your heart and apply them on your will!

The solutions lay within yourself and they’re different for everyone. Once, twice, thrice and I don’t even remember how many I have thought of giving up on something I dearly loved doing just because “I wasn’t getting anywhere” or many shitty reasons I listed above! But the most important thing that kept me going with it was “My love for it”… I realized I might never get anywhere with it, but I enjoy it with all my heart and that’s the most important thing for me!

So I kept doing that thing, not for anyone but for myself. For my happy heart.

Another thing that keeps me going is my frustration with life on several days! Yeah! You read that right. Usually, when we’re frustrated we think negatively and “giving up” tends to pop up in our heads. But you have to train your brain to find positive in that frustration! I am not kidding or putting out any brain teasers! Though I might sound like that author who writes self help books and every paragraph ends with “positive thinking”. But believe me, its also scientific. You actually behave the way YOU train your brain!

Let me elaborate on this “Find positivity in Frustration thing” by telling you, what I do.

Whenever I feel frustrated I firstly, abuse a lot! Lol! No, not to people! But to someone I trust, I talk. I let it out of my system. And if I can’t share it with someone, then I write in my journal. That also helps ALOT!

After this, I start thinking about Last Year, where I was last year and what I have done and achieved in one year! Who I used to be and who I have become now!

Now this helps you feel great about yourself because you DID achieve alot and we tend to forget about it in the rush to get better for the future. So I appreciate myself!

Then, I think about all those people who aren’t very fortunate to have what I have! And so, I should not take this as granted. I am lucky.

And with this brain exercise, the last thing that comes to your mind is, “This too shall pass. I will never give up. I know I can do this. Let’s watch some movie”.

I am not kidding this works! Try it on yourself.

The 3 simple steps to stop feeling like giving up-

    1. Let it out of your system.
    2. Appreciate yourself for all that you’ve achieved so far.
    3. Practice gratitude. Be grateful.
There are some other points as well.

Like – Not caring what people think, giving yourself priority, keeping your goal in your mind and all but you can read them in any self help book! So.

I hope this helps someone! If it does, you’re welcome, if doesn’t, try your own way! It may be better than mine!

Thanks for reading. Never give up.

  • Myth About Passion

Passion is such a heavy word. It touches your most vulnerable nerve. That nerve, which was once the strongest! When you were 15 and that nerve made you decide what you wanted to be! But instead, that nerve couldn’t support you long enough and you fell in life’s trap! Many of us wanted to be musicians or athletes or painters, but that person got lost somewhere and the one who emerged, is still trying to find that satisfaction in present endeavours! Did you find it yet, or are you still looking?

Let me do something for you today in that space. Affirm that you’ll find that thing one day, because you will. So don’t stop searching for it. You may find it in something you didn’t think you would. You’ll discover yourself and your capabilities and you’ll be better than you think of yourself!

But what about that thing you really wanted to do? You must have read or seen content like ‘Follow Your Passion’ or ‘Don’t Follow Your Passion’ and mostly, ‘Don’t Make Your Passion, Your Profession’ ! I have read alot about these!

All of these people saying these things are bluffing, they don’t even know they’re! You really think they didn’t have dreams like us? No, they did, yet they learned through life and fame what was their priority! So they stick to it! They evolved with their dreams! They became writers and motivational coaches! Some of them are really great and authentic, like Robin Sharma & Gary Vee. You should check them out if you haven’t, after reading this though.

They’re doing this work because they KNOW that we need it. We need motivation or a wake up call. We need someone to tell us to do what’s required because humans are slick and lazy. We’re more productive when someone else tells us to be! It’s annoying but it’s in our nature.

But never mix their lessons with ‘passion’. Passion is not your dream job or your biggest hobby. Passion is what you’re born with and it grows with you. You figure it out as life goes on! But it’s okay if you don’t. Passion is not a quality that one possesses! It’s an emotion. It’s a feeling of extremeness. You can be passionate about love or friendships or traveling or cooking! That doesn’t mean you have to make it into a career. Because passion is personal. Like art is. Like your music taste is. Passion is something you share deeply with yourself & you know may be others won’t understand that & its okay because it’s YOURS!

I used to think that music is my passion. Singing to be precise. There was a huge part of me that tried real hard to make it happen as a singer, but there was always something missing! But I found it as life went on and bought me where I am now! I found out that as long as I was singing to be Something or reach Somewhere, I wasn’t happy! I learned that when I sang for just MYSELF, and not to show it out to the world, I was happy. Satisfied. Because I got to know that my passion is mine. I sing everyday. I am happy when I do. May be i’ll do something about it one day! Who knows! But for now, I live it everyday still. I share it with the world sometimes. You can listen some of it, I’ll attach a link at the end.

The thing is, not showing my passion to the world doesn’t mean I have to stop following it! Because passion always lives inside us. Even if you try to bury it, it strikes back in some ways or the other. Don’t fight it or let go! It’s YOURS. Live your passion, Everyday.
