  • How To Deal With Anxiety

Life is sooooo, ugh, I can’t even describe it! It was so great when we were in school. The things that used to worry us out were actual problems. Like, puberty, pimples, crush and attractions! That senior or junior who is so cute, but no, they’re senior! “But oh my gosh, did you like see like how cute he ysss!!!Like , Totallaayy”…! Then we went to college, discovered some more problems, like assignments, grades, college fests, competitions and winning and hostel life, and puberty to the next level, pimples became acne and all! Like actual problems, literally! We thought how hard can life be? Once I get a job or go ahead in my career, everything will be juuuuust fine! Just breathe¡!! Pheww… ThEN CAME THE WRATH OF EARLY 20S, WHERE EVERY DAY FELT LIKE A BATTLE AND EVERYONE WAS EITHER A FRIEND OR AN ENEMY BUT NO ONE COULD BE CONSIDERED A STRANGER, BECAUSE ADULTS ARE WEIRD. …..

With time, came struggles of course, physical, emotional and mental. Raise your hands if you have anxiety, breakouts on your whole body and have  no  idea what you’re going to do in life!!!! Yeah, well! When you’re going through this stressful phase, feels like never ending, just keep in mind these 5 points-

    1.  You’re not alone and it happens with everyone.
    2. Everything in this world is temporary, the good times and the bad times. That’s how we balance right?!!
    3. You’ve faced harsh times and have conquered them before. You can do it again.
    4. Hard times are there for a lesson. Learn everything you can from this situation!
    5. IGNORE EVERYBODY.

Sincerely, These things are the best things to cope with any situation because you know, they’re negatively positive, reassuring and a bit true ! So try them if you want to.

Now, of course we are talking about anxiety! I think, in this millennial generation, if you don’t have anxiety, you’re missing out on something man!!! Get a life!!

Okay, jokes apart, anxiety is like cold, everyone has it and it can be okay for a while, but before you know it, you’re again inside the trap!

Anxiety have many types. The main ones are Emotional and Social (I think). Seriously, I have read nothing about it, just experience is talking!

Emotional anxiety is very draining and exhausting (both are like same words, but i like them both here, so..). It hits you slowly. Like one day, you feel tired a bit, not that active or motivated, even if you did everything right! You feel lost for no reason. You create reasons. The brain plays a bitch role here. And the next day, you have a breakdown. You feel breathless and hopeless. You feel like you’re going to die and nobody will save you. And it’s hard to breathe and you feel dizzy! … Finally, it stops. Ladies and Gentlemen, that’s called a panic attack / anxiety attack. You feel fine and better the next day by the way. So Yayy? Or Nayy?….

    Nayyyy…… Super Duper Nayyyy!

Anxiety attacks are one of the worsts! So I hope you don’t have them.

Social Anxiety (from what I’ve learnt) is directed to the social conditions around as ,as the name suggests. Like ,loud sounds irritate you, people irritate you, basically everything irritates you.

There’s a sub-part to this for me, called OCD! (Yeah, Monica Geller has it and alot of you as well..)….OCD is obsessive compulsive disorder and it is basically something you are obsessed about but also not obsessed about like when you are leaving your house and you think you forgot to switch off the stove or the gas but you already did that but you still check it like twice or thrice before leaving the house, so that’s called OCD.

I have experienced these types of anxieties and I have dealt with them. So I am going to tell you, how you can deal with anxiety too!!!

When it comes to our feelings and emotions, the heart is the master. So when it comes to emotional anxiety, the heart is the one you need to trick and train to control it. The things that you can do are -you can do deep breathing when you feel like very anxious. You can try as much as you can to let it all out by but crying, don’t overdo it, you’ll get exhausted. You can also do a workout or exercise or go out cycling or for a walk because it really helps to keep your heart into better circulation mode and  it helps with the mood to become better. So, this is how you can deal with emotional anxiety but the problem is, if you have anxiety you need to be careful about your habits and the people you hang out with. You also need to keep a track on how often do you get panic attacks or feel anxious which can help you to control it the next time anything happens. Keep a track of triggers around you that make you anxious and remove them from your life. Take good care of YOU.

    HEART TO HEART

    BRAIN GAME

When it comes to our social behaviour, our reflexes and our responses, the brain is the master. To deal with people around you, you first need to train your brain to be calm and the trick of deep breathing helps here as well. It helps both the heart and the brain,so do the deep breathing thing. You can also meditate or if you cannot concentrate while meditating you can just close your eyes and calm your mind for just about a minute or two. You should take small breaks in between your work or your tasks. That just recharges your brain so that you don’t feel stressful and anything like anxiety can stay away from you. If you still feel very anxious or stressful, you should journal a lot.   You should write down your emotions, you should write down whatever you’re feeling. This really helps because the brain is kind of a hollow vessel and it can contain only few things. It gets worked up with a lot of information, so you need to let out some of the information in order to make room for some other information you really want to keep in your brain. So that is how you trick your brain to remain stress free, by unloading it.

For OCD, the trick you can apply to your brain sound simple, but is very difficult! You have to control your brain and not let the brain control you. So, tell yourself repeatedly that you have already done that task and you don’t need to check it again. You have to do it repeatedly, only that’ll work and otherwise the brain will control you like it always do. So try to take control of your brain and that’s all I think you can do.

You can deal with all the hardships in your way. The only thing stronger than these hard times is our will to remove them and enjoy life as it is.

     Take Care.

  • Why Work Stress Is A Good Thing

I know you must be thinking I’ve lost my mind because of all the work stress but no, that’s not it.

We all have stress of some kind. Family, Work, Life and what not.

Simply, if you don’t have work stress on some days, then your working is not serving you right.

You can totally have contradictory opinions about it right now, but read a while and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

When you’re working on something and suddenly some more work comes in, your first reaction is to curse the person who gave you the work and then curse the person who that work is for and then curse yourself for choosing this job and then cursing your life for not giving you what you want and i.e., a vacation… You see, a whole lot of cursing is involved in work life! You may be cursing this article because it reminded you, you have to go to work tomorrow! Hey, Don’t curse the article, curse your stress here.

In all that cursing self, life and people, what you’re doing is making yourself assume that your job sucks and you ARE stressful, even when you’re not… “Let’s take a break-to smoke outside”… Yeah, do it. That’ll help you with the stress. A thing which is slowly killing life out of you and effects your rational thinking and tricks your brain to make you think – You Are Stressed. Smoke away friend. If you really wish to not depend on a piece of shit-ggratte, then read ahead. If not, then go out, smoke and keep stressing out on life.

I am not saying life is easy ,or take it easy…I am also not saying that work doesn’t call for stress. But taking the stress seriously and then stressing about stress is just stupid. And since you do what you do, I don’t think you’re stupid!

    Untitled design (2)

Stress is not caused due to the work you do or are about to do but it is caused because of the anticipation of it!

Stressing over how much work you’ve left and how much time you have left for it because you want to finish on time and chill out! All that worrying creates havoc and you are already stressed! This anticipation of working more makes you overthink about every problem in your life (that doesn’t even exist) and the reason you conclude for those problems is your choice of work!!!!

Then ,you start thinking about switching, other options or totally changing your field of interest, so that you can enjoy whatever you do, no matter how much you do it!

But are you sure that doing what you like to do doesn’t causes stress?

    Let’s dig deeper into it.

When you do what you like to do, there’s no stress of More Work! There’s stress of No Work at all! Your stress is now accompanied by your fear of ‘what ifs’! “What if I don’t get what I want?” “What if this isn’t what I want to do?” Ecetera !

So still if you are stressed in some way or the other, its not because of what you do, its because you let it effect you!

“Work is Worship” for a reason.

Work gives meaning to our lives.

You can’t live how you want to live without the work you do. If you stress over work, then it is actually a sign that you take it seriously and want to grow. As stress makes you a better version of yourself in so many terms.

    • Stress makes you think about how much you work, that you should be proud of yourself for working so hard.
    • Stress gives you an opportunity to find new, smart ways to make your work easier for you.
    • Stress of some more work makes you learn new things!

Stress is your best friend at work if you let it be.
    So just let it be.
Work stress is a good thing, if YOU let it be.
    Have a happy workday.

It is the stressful times that make you a stronger, better version of yourself.

  • When You Feel Like Giving Up

Everyone feels like giving up on something at some point of time. We’ve all been there. In fact, we go through it on a regular basis! Hell, I have been like given on several things, several times, which probably is the reason I am writing this post! So ahead are not researched facts and solutions, rather experienced and applied life hacks which I think I am happy to share. May be someone right now reading this needs them! Hey if you’re reading this because you’re thinking about giving up on something, you should fasten your seat belt and read with a speed! Okay, I am done messing. Let’s go.

Reasons to be feeling like Giving Up

To be clear, giving up doesn’t mean you’re going through depression or have any issues. It’s totally normal and everyone feels that way. So take a deep breath, clear out your mind and read ahead.

There are innumerable reasons for this that can also vary on an individual basis.

Yet, the ones I am listing are common with everyone. (I guess).

    1. You don’t feel like you’re getting closer to the result you hoped for.
    2. You think you have made a wrong decision.
    3. You’re tired of motivating yourself everyday.
    4. You feel you’re alone in this.
    5. You want to live that life you want, but something still holds you back and you’re scared.
    6. You feel like you’re wasting your life and what if you’re meant to do something else!?
    7. You see people doing their thing and you feel demotivated and start to doubt yourself.
    8. You think you aren’t good enough
    9. This list can go on and on and on. Because if you want to give up you’ll CREATE excuses that aren’t even there!

    So what do we do?

Well, firstly, stop with the above points blabbering in your head RIGHT NOW!

    Secondly, keep reading.

How to overcome the feeling of “giving up”?
I am not an expert or a professional who should advise people what they can do and what they can’t. But let me tell you one important thing. Whatever I tell you or whatever even an expert tells you, won’t make a difference unless you accept them in your heart and apply them on your will!

The solutions lay within yourself and they’re different for everyone. Once, twice, thrice and I don’t even remember how many I have thought of giving up on something I dearly loved doing just because “I wasn’t getting anywhere” or many shitty reasons I listed above! But the most important thing that kept me going with it was “My love for it”… I realized I might never get anywhere with it, but I enjoy it with all my heart and that’s the most important thing for me!

So I kept doing that thing, not for anyone but for myself. For my happy heart.

Another thing that keeps me going is my frustration with life on several days! Yeah! You read that right. Usually, when we’re frustrated we think negatively and “giving up” tends to pop up in our heads. But you have to train your brain to find positive in that frustration! I am not kidding or putting out any brain teasers! Though I might sound like that author who writes self help books and every paragraph ends with “positive thinking”. But believe me, its also scientific. You actually behave the way YOU train your brain!

Let me elaborate on this “Find positivity in Frustration thing” by telling you, what I do.

Whenever I feel frustrated I firstly, abuse a lot! Lol! No, not to people! But to someone I trust, I talk. I let it out of my system. And if I can’t share it with someone, then I write in my journal. That also helps ALOT!

After this, I start thinking about Last Year, where I was last year and what I have done and achieved in one year! Who I used to be and who I have become now!

Now this helps you feel great about yourself because you DID achieve alot and we tend to forget about it in the rush to get better for the future. So I appreciate myself!

Then, I think about all those people who aren’t very fortunate to have what I have! And so, I should not take this as granted. I am lucky.

And with this brain exercise, the last thing that comes to your mind is, “This too shall pass. I will never give up. I know I can do this. Let’s watch some movie”.

I am not kidding this works! Try it on yourself.

The 3 simple steps to stop feeling like giving up-

    1. Let it out of your system.
    2. Appreciate yourself for all that you’ve achieved so far.
    3. Practice gratitude. Be grateful.
There are some other points as well.

Like – Not caring what people think, giving yourself priority, keeping your goal in your mind and all but you can read them in any self help book! So.

I hope this helps someone! If it does, you’re welcome, if doesn’t, try your own way! It may be better than mine!

Thanks for reading. Never give up.
